I am Warren West, and Paehl is a one-man raid notebook. My privacy setup matches the site: small, boring, and honest. Here is everything I collect and why, in normal words.
What lands on my desk
- Your emails. Write to info@paehl.com and I keep the thread until your question is sorted, plus the archive after — handy when the same boss breaks twice. Never shared, never mailed about.
- Blog comments. Whatever name and email you type, plus your IP and browser details. WordPress holds those so spam bots do not bury real discussion.
- Server logs. My hosting notes the technical basics — IP, browser, pages, times. I open those files only when the site misbehaves or someone pokes at it.
What never happens here
No selling data, no renting lists, no fingerprinting tricks of my own. If a page embeds something from outside, like a video or a log link, that service follows its own rules — check theirs if you care.
Cookies in one paragraph
A couple of plain cookies remember small things, like the name you used for a comment, so you do not retype it. Block them if you like — the guides read exactly the same.
Your rights, same paragraph
Commented or emailed before? Ask me what I have on you, or ask me to wipe it — info@paehl.com, same address you used, and I handle it myself within a few days. Same goes for readers in the EU and California: your local laws grant access, fixes and deletion, and I honor all three the same way.
How long things stick around
Emails live while the issue is open, then sit in the archive for reference. Comments stay with their post unless you ask me to pull yours. Logs rotate out on their own after a month or two. The site runs updated WordPress, I am the only one holding the keys, and nothing gets handed to third parties — so there is little to leak.
Kids and edits to this page
This blog assumes grown-up readers and I do not knowingly collect anything from kids under 13 — parents, tell me if that ever happens and I will delete it on the spot. If my data habits change, this page changes with them and the date at the top moves.
